Policy Advocacy Competition

In 2026, the LPP Program sent a team of students to D.C. to compete in the Richard K. Gilbert Policy Advocacy Competition (Gilbert Cup) hosted by D.C. Justice Lab. For the competition, they drafted legislation and an accompanying factsheet addressing the issue of wrongful convictions by reforming eyewitness identification policy. In their strong oral advocacy in mock legislative hearings, they demonstrated that advocacy at Temple extends beyond the courtroom.
