Program Goals and Values

Commonality Across Difference

The diversity of interests and approaches among the Scholars provides a rich collaborate environment where, as the Scholars say, “not all great minds think alike.”  A founding principle of the Program is that Scholars seek to bridge any divides through dialogue – not debate or argument.  To this end, class discussion is designed to expose problems, consider other perspectives, suspend bias, and explore points of interest convergence while engaging in creative problem solving. The goal is always to be constructive and respectful of other opinions and seek commonality across differences.
