Spring Break Building Hours
During Spring Break, Klein Hall’s main entrance (2nd floor) will be open regular hours. There will be no guard after 5 pm at the rear entrance – Montgomery. The Law Library Circulation Desk will be open 9 am – 5pm. (Temple Law Library) Aramark has informed us that Diamond General Cafe will be closed during the break. Stella’s in Charles Library will be open for food and beverage needs during spring break. Barrack Hall will close at 7pm during the break.

PIDC D’Alessio Scholarship for Urban Development
PIDC is now accepting applications for the 2023 PIDC D’Alessio Scholarship for Urban Development. Up to two (2) scholarships of up to $2,500 each will be awarded. Scholarship recipients will also be offered a paid PIDC fall internship in 2023. Students must either be pursuing a graduate degree at a Philadelphia college or university or be a Philadelphia resident at a college or university studying outside the Philadelphia area. The PBA Environmental & Energy Law Section Minority Scholarship
PBF Environmental and Energy Law Section Minority Scholarship awards up to nine scholarships specifically designated to support historically under-represented racial/ethnic minority law students. The PBA Intellectual Property Law Section is offering $500 to the law student winner of the section’s 2023 writing contest. The Luzerne Foundation is once again offering the Lawrence M. Klemow, Esq. Memorial Scholarship, which is available to students pursuing a law degree who reside in the Greater Hazleton area in Pennsylvania. Third Annual Judge Samuel G. DeSimone Memorial Legal Writing Competition
The Cumberland County, Gloucester County and Salem County Bar Associations are pleased to jointly announce the 2023 legal writing competition in honor of the late Judge Samuel G. DeSimone, former New Jersey Superior Court Assignment Judge for Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem Counties (known as Vicinage XV). The Judge Samuel G. DeSimone Legal Writing Competition is open to full-time and part-time law students who are enrolled in the 2022-2023 academic year at an accredited law school. Applicants must reside in Burlington, Ocean, Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Salem, Gloucester or Camden Counties.
The author of the first-place submission will receive a cash award of $3,000.00 ($1,000.00 from each of the County Bar Foundations of Vicinage XV) and the publication of their submission in each of the County Bar Associations’ newsletters and on their websites. The winner will also be invited to a meeting of one of the County Bar Associations of Vicinage XV in early summer 2023 to receive their award. College of Labor and Employment Lawyers – Annual Law Student Writing Competition 2022-2023
The ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law and The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers are pleased to announce their 2022 writing competition. This competition is open to articles written while the author is an active student at an accredited law school in the United States. Prizes are as follows: First Place: $3000; Second Place: $1000, and Third Place: $500. The first-place winning article may be selected for publication in the ABA Journal of Labor & Employment Law. StrangerLaw LLC Law School Scholarship
The attorneys at StangerLaw LLC are passionate about advocating for our personal injury and auto accident clients. So passionate, in fact, that we want to ensure that the next generation of lawyers is prepared to represent these same clients. That preparation begins in law school.
To encourage students to focus on their studies, StangerLaw LLC will award $1,000 to one law student who responds to the video essay prompt. Interested applicants must submit a video essay answering the question: Who is your favorite fictional TV lawyer and why?
To be eligible to receive the $1,000 scholarship, students must:
- Answer both parts of the prompt in their video essay;

Meltzer Fellowships through the Sheller Center for Social Justice
Meltzer Social Justice Grants offer stipends of $1,000 to $3,000 to students who design and carry out innovative social justice projects. Applications are welcomed on a rolling basis as long as funding is available, and can be for work planned to occur this fall; over the course of both semesters; or in the spring semester. Research Assistant (RA) wanted to assist Professor Evelyn Rangel-Medina with research and writing support for academic journals. The preferred RA candidate has journal experience and should be interested in racial and economic justice. The RA will help edit academic journals, support with citation development, and provide research assistance in the areas of immigration, race & the law, and labor and employment discrimination. Federal Trade Commission Fall 2023 Semester Internship Program
The Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition is now accepting applications for their Semester Legal Intern Program. The Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition enforces the nation’s antitrust laws. The antitrust laws promote vigorous competition and protect consumers from anticompetitive mergers and business practices, such as monopolistic conduct, attempts to monopolize, and conspiracies in restraint of trade. The Bureau investigates potential antitrust law violations and seeks legal remedies in federal court or before the FTC’s administrative law judge. In addition to its enforcement work, the FTC provides guidance about the application of the antitrust laws to various stakeholders, including Congress, policy makers, other federal and state government agencies, foreign governments, industry participants, and the public.
The Bureau of Competition offers fall and spring semester legal internships to second- and third-year law students at its Washington, D.C. offices. Semester legal interns work closely with attorneys, economists, and other investigative staff on actual law enforcement investigations, and federal and administrative court litigations. Typical assignments include conducting legal and factual research, interviewing witnesses, writing legal memoranda, and preparing documents and exhibits. Semester internships are unpaid, but academic or work-study credit may be possible. Interested students should contact their law schools for specific information and requirements.
For Fall 2023, the application period is January 23 – April 7, 2023. Interviews are scheduled and offers are extended on a rolling basis. Flu Shots for 2022-2023: Seasonal flu vaccinations are now available for all University students, faculty and staff for the 2022-2023 flu season. All Temple University students, faculty and staff may receive a free seasonal flu shot. You must schedule an appointment on the Patient Health Portal in order to receive your free flu shot. No Walk-ins will be accepted! Flu shots are administer on Main Campus at Morgan Hall North, Room D301 (Entrance from the courtyard in the middle of Morgan North and South).

Temple Campus Walking Escort Program

Call: 8-WALK (8-9255) from a campus phone, or call: 215-777-9255 from a cell phone.Escort service is available daily from 4 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. Security Bike Officers provide escort services and maintain communication with Temple Police. Patrol boundaries are Susquehanna Avenue on the north to Jefferson Street on the south, with the exception of 13th to Broad Street, where the southern boundary is Girard Avenue. The western border is 18th Street and the patrol area extends east to 9th Street
Temple Flight Program
Flight is Temple University’s nighttime fixed-route shuttle loop service. Flight-branded shuttles circulate throughout the areas within and surrounding the main campus patrol zone, and pick up and drop off students at each of its over 40 stops. The shuttles arrive approximately every 15 minutes at each stop, and you can track the locations of each shuttle in real time using the TransLoc app.
- Any student, faculty, or staff member with a valid TUid can use Flight. A valid TUid can be your physical or mobile OWLcard.
- Flight operates 7 days per week from 6 PM to 2 AM, and the shuttles arrive at each drop-off and pick-up location every 15 minutes during this service time. The service continues to operate in a modified form during university breaks.
- Flight serves the Main Campus patrol zone. It operates in two loops – the north loop, which covers the northern parts of the patrol zone, and the south loop, which covers the southern and eastern parts of the patrol zone. Shuttles on each loop follow a fixed route around that loop.
Flight shuttles can be tracked in real time using the TransLoc App during hours of operation. Use the website or app to plan your arrival at the shuttle stop most convenient for you – the shuttle driver will stop for you if they see you at the stop, but the shuttle will continue on its way if no one is waiting. Display your Temple ID when boarding the shuttle, and when you’re a block or so from your destination, let the driver know so they can stop the shuttle and let you off.
RAVE Temple Guardian: Campus Personal Safety Mobile App
RAVE Temple Guardian is a new one-touch personal safety mobile app that allows students, faculty and staff to connect directly with Temple University Police.
Setting Up the App
Before setting up the Temple Guardian app, verify that Temple has your phone on file.
- Log in to TUportal.
- Click “Manage My Account” in the upper-right portion of the screen.
- Click “Manage Addresses and Phones.”
- Make sure your phone number is listed with a Phone Type of Mobile—Personal or Mobile—Work. If not, click “Add phone” and follow the prompts to add it.
Then, follow the steps below.
- Search “Rave Guardian” in the Apple App Store for iPhones or Google Play Store for Android phones. Once downloaded, Temple Guardian will also be integrated within TUmobile.
- Register using your Temple AccessNet username. Note that email aliases cannot be used when registering for the app.
- Once registered, you can access new key campus safety features, such as choosing to chat with Temple Police, call Temple Police, call 911 or start a virtual safe walk.
- In the app, users can also update emergency contacts, vehicle information and choose to share their profile directly with 911.

Virtual Safety Walk
In the app, users can choose to set a “guardian,” who can be a member of their friends or family, or a member of the Temple University Police Department. To access the virtual safe walk feature, users must first allow Temple Guardian to access their location. Then, users can set a fixed time for their departure and arrival, and their guardians are notified when they reach their destination.
Chat with Temple University Police
You can directly connect with Temple Police and discreetly report suspicious activity. To initiate a chat with Temple University Police, on the Temple Guardian main screen, tap “Chat with Police,” and then tap “Chat with TU Police.” To report the tip anonymously, tap the slider next to “Go Anonymous.” The screen will go dark.

The Disciplinary Board promotes ethics education, misconduct prevention, and well-being within the legal community. The application period for the July 2023 Pennsylvania Bar Exam is now open. If you plan on sitting for the July 2023 bar exam in Pennsylvania, you can begin your online application today.

Kaplan Bar Review seeks 1L/2L reps
Kaplan Bar Review is currently looking for 1L and 2L students to join its student rep team. Responsibilities include promoting the Kaplan course through email and social media and generally being a Kaplan ambassador to promote the course to our student body. Kaplan also runs a table each Wednesday on the 3rd floor of Klein. In exchange for your efforts, Kaplan will provide a free bar course to you when it comes time for you to take the bar exam, along with monetary benefits for each enrollment you help process.

2022-2023 MPRE Dates and Deadlines
The Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) is a two-hour, 60-question multiple-choice examination administered three times per year. - March 28 & 29, 2023 | registration now closed
- August 9 & 10, 2023 | registration deadline: June 8, 2023 (not yet open)
- November 2 & 3, 2023 | registration deadline: September 12, 2023 (not yet open)
