President Trump’s first executive order banning refugees and immigrants from seven primarily Muslim countries met with widespread social protest and swift rejection by the courts. Advocacy groups have promised a similar response to his second, amended order. What are the legal bases for and against Trump’s executive action? What are the laws governing who can enter the US, who can be denied entry, and on what grounds?
