The Delaware Valley Environmental American Inn of Court – apply by Thursday, September 17th<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

The Delaware Valley Environmental American Inn of Court (DVEAIC)<\/strong> is offering membership to two students from each Philadelphia area law school for its 2026-2027 academic year. DVEAIC is an intimate group of approximately 90 lawyers, law professors, and law students, and is intended to enhance the professional and ethical quality of legal practice in our community. DVEAIC, which was founded in 1996 and was the first Inn in the U.S. to specialize in environmental law, has proven particularly stimulating as the membership is comprised of an exceptional cross-section of the tri-state area\u2019s environmental bar, including representatives from federal, state, and city agencies; in-house and private practices (large and small); public interest organizations; law school professors; and students from each of the six area law schools. DVEAIC meets once a month between September and April with an optional end of year dinner in May. Meetings consist of a one-hour social hour, followed by a one-hour CLE presented by a different team of members.<\/p>\n

For law students, the DVEAIC offers a unique opportunity to network with environmental attorneys in a more casual atmosphere, designed to help bridge the gap between law school and formal legal practice. Students can also participate in our mentor\/mentee program. Our first meeting of the year will be on September 23, 2026, 5:30pm. Meetings will take place in-person on the fourth Wednesday of each month (except November and December are combined for the first Wednesday in December) through April 2026.<\/p>\n

In addition, DVEAIC is dedicated to having a diverse and active membership. Diversity embodies all those differences that make us unique individuals and includes people of different race, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, gender, religion, age, personal style, appearance, physical ability as well as people of diverse opinion, perspectives, lifestyles, ideas and thinking. We value the differences in views and perspectives and the varied experiences that are part of a diverse membership. We seek members from a wide variety of environmentally related practice areas, from diverse geographic areas, from diverse practice settings (large\/medium\/small firms, solo practitioners, in-house, all levels of government, public interest, and academia), and otherwise representative of the environmental bar.<\/p>\n

Mac Users: Hold Off Upgrading to macOS 27 Golden Gate<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

Apple will release its latest operating system, macOS 27 Golden Gate this fall. At this time, Information Technology Services recommends not<\/strong> installing this upgrade when it becomes available because you may encounter compatibility issues with various applications used at the university.<\/p>\n

Once our vendors certify that key applications used in our environment are compatible, we will notify you that it is safe to install this upgrade.<\/p>\n

If you use a Mac outside of work, you may also want to confirm that your software is compatible with macOS 27 Golden Gate before upgrading.<\/p>\n

Volunteer Judges Needed: Temple University Mock Trial<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

Temple University’s Undergraduate Mock Trial is searching for volunteer scoring judges this Fall. The annual Hooter Invitational is on Saturday, November 14th and Sunday, November 15th<\/strong>. Each day has two rounds – a morning and an afternoon round – and you can volunteer for as many or as few as you like. Temple Health Votes Emergency Absentee Volunteers needed November 2nd and 3rd<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

Interested in civic engagement and health care? Looking for a meaningful way to support patients in exercising their right to vote? Consider becoming a Temple Health Votes Emergency Absentee Volunteer.<\/p>\n

Volunteers are needed the Monday and Tuesday of election week, November 2nd and 3rd. As a volunteer, you will help patients complete the emergency absentee voting process at Temple University Hospital, including the Main Campus, Jeanes Campus, Chestnut Hill Hospital, and Temple Women & Families. Opportunities vary and may include working directly with patients or assisting with the transportation of voting paperwork between hospitals and county election offices.<\/p>\n

A mandatory training session is required before volunteering. Sign up for a shift through the Owls for Philly section of TUPortal<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Exam Information: Examplify Program<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

In this session we will walk you through the in-class exam process at Temple. You must attend this session to prepare for midterm and final exams. We will review how to download and register Examplify (the software program used for exams).<\/p>\n
