If you need an appointment at a time other than the times listed, please contact Associate Director Noeleen Urmson (<a href=\"mailto:nurmson@temple.edu\">nurmson@temple.edu<\/a>).<\/p>\n<h3><em><strong>Law and Public Policy Program 1L Application Now Open &#8211; Priority Deadline October 21st<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www2.law.temple.edu\/studentpost\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/LPP-Applications-Flyer.png\" width=\"459\" height=\"594\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><em><strong>Spring 2025 State Judicial Clerkship Clinical Program (2LD\/3LE Students) &#8211; Application Deadline Monday, October 21st<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Temple Law School is proud to offer the Spring 2025 State Judicial Clerkship (SJC) Program to current second-year day and third-year evening division and part-time students. The SJC\u00a0Program is a three (3) credit\u00a0experiential program\u00a0that has a real-world practice component and a classroom component.<\/p>\n<p>In the SJC program, up to 7 students will be selected, and each student will be paired with a judge in each division of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas or Municipal Court\u00a0in Philadelphia.\u00a0 Students are required to work for 10 hours a week in chambers and the courtroom.\u00a0 Students are also required to attend a seminar taught by the Honorable Sheila Woods-Skipper, Administrative Judge of the Court of Common Pleas, Orphans Court Division and the Honorable Annette Rizzo (Ret.). The seminar class will meet at City Hall every Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (you may schedule a portion of your chambers hours on Fridays before and after the class) and will be primarily held in person at City Hall.<\/p>\n<p>Students need to apply to participate in this program.\u00a0 Your application must include a resume and a statement of interest. Students will be notified about selections by November 1<sup>st<\/sup> at 5 p.m.\u00a0\u00a0If you have any questions, please email me at <a href=\"mailto:nurmson@temple.edu\">nurmson@temple.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>Spring 2025 In-House Clinic Applications \u2013 Deadline Wednesday, October 23<sup>rd<\/sup><\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Students interested in enrolling in an in-house clinic for Spring 2025, must submit an application no later than OCTOBER 23, 2024 at 11:59pm.\u00a0 More details about in-house clinics and the application form can be found here: <a href=\"https:\/\/law.temple.edu\/academics\/experiential\/temple-based-clinics\/\">https:\/\/law.temple.edu\/academics\/experiential\/temple-based-clinics\/<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>IP Moot Court Competition \u2013 Apply by Friday, October 25th<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Professors Douglas and Gugliuzza are planning to advise two student teams this year in the American Intellectual Property Law Association\u2019s Giles Sutherland Rich Moot Court competition (<em>see<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aipla.org\/resources\/programs-awards\/moot-court-competition\">https:\/\/www.aipla.org\/resources\/programs-awards\/moot-court-competition<\/a>). This is a prestigious intellectual property law moot court competition. The team will both write briefs and present oral arguments.<\/p>\n<p>All 2L, 3L, and 4L students are eligible. The competition is typically patent-focused but may relate to copyright or other IP law. You must have taken or be taking Introduction to Intellectual Property to be eligible. Participation in this competition can be a very valuable learning experience, but you must be ready to put in substantial effort into research, writing and oral argument, which requires that you be strongly self-motivated.<\/p>\n<p>The moot court materials for this competition are released in the Fall semester, and students will work on their briefs in teams of two beginning in the Fall through to January, with oral argument practices through to March. At this time, Information Technology Services recommends <strong><em>not installing<\/em><\/strong> this upgrade, as you may encounter compatibility issues with various applications used at the university.<\/p>\n<p>Once our vendors certify that key applications used in our environment are compatible, we will notify you that it is safe to install this upgrade.<\/p>\n<p>Questions? Please contact the Technology Support Center at <a href=\"https:\/\/tuhelp.temple.edu\/\">tuhelp.temple.edu<\/a> (click Chat or Request Help) or call <strong>215-204-8000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><em><strong>Important: Microsoft and Apple Upcoming Operating System Updates and Examplify Compatibility<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Microsoft and Apple have announced the upcoming release of new operating systems Windows 11 24H2 and macOS Sequoia, though the official dates are not yet available.<\/p>\n<p>ExamSoft is currently testing Examplify\u2019s compatibility with these new operating systems. Upon accepting an unpaid legal internship or externship position, a student seeking to pursue an Independent Practicum must obtain approval from Dean Ramji-Nogales by completing the <a href=\"https:\/\/law.temple.edu\/engage\/law-practicum-approval-form\/\" data-auth=\"Verified\">Practicum Approval Form<\/a>. Once approved, the student will then need to secure a full-time faculty member to act as the faculty supervisor for their practicum.
