Herman Stern Moot Court Competition &#8211; Wednesday, April 26 at 4 pm in the Moot Court Room and via YouTube<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p>The Annual <strong>I. Herman Stern Moot Court Competition<\/strong> will take place <strong>Wednesday, April 26, at 4:00 pm in the Moot Court Room<\/strong> and streamed on YouTube.\u00a0 This year\u2019s finalists are:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Samantha Barrett <\/strong>(for Appellant) v.<strong> Catherine Plante <\/strong>(for Appellee)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Mara Poulsen <\/strong>(for Appellant) v.<strong> Jesse Bernstein <\/strong>(for Appellee).<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The finalists will be arguing a First Amendment appeal, currently pending in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, concerning the right to freedom of speech and expression versus the right to privacy and tranquility in one\u2019s own home. A <a href=\"https:\/\/law.temple.edu\/resources\/student-services\/course-registration\/practicums\/\" data-auth=\"Verified\">practicum course<\/a> offers students an opportunity to earn 2- or 3-credits in connection with an unpaid experiential opportunity. In a practicum course, students will engage in a project for a real client under the supervision of an on-site practicing attorney or supervisor <u>and<\/u> a full-time faculty member. Upon accepting a legal internship or externship position, a student seeking to pursue an Independent Practicum must obtain approval from Dean Ramji-Nogales by completing the <a href=\"https:\/\/law.temple.edu\/engage\/law-practicum-approval-form\/\" data-auth=\"Verified\">Practicum Approval Form<\/a>. Once approved, the student will then need to secure a full-time faculty member to act as the faculty supervisor for their practicum. That means any study materials you plan to use for an open book exam must be in hard copy.<\/li>\n<li>You are not permitted to talk to your professor about the exam after the day the exam is scheduled even if your exam is deferred and you are studying for it later.<\/li>\n<li>Any questions about a take home exam must be directed to the administration. Do not contact your professor.<\/li>\n<li>Secondary devices (tablets, e-readers, additional monitors, etc) are not permitted.<\/li>\n<li>You will not receive a confirmation email when submitting take home exams.<\/li>\n<li>If your in person exam has a word limit, you can check the word count in Examplify by clicking on the document icon next to the character count on the bottom of the screen.<\/li>\n<li>If you are taking a Free Slot exam, Saturday exam, or testing in Barrack Hall, you must keep your own time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"section-17\"><em><strong>Exam Information Sessions &amp; Slides<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p>The slides from the Fall exam information sessions can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.law.temple.edu\/studentpost\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Final-Exam-Info-Session.pdf\">here<\/a>.
