{"id":2973,"date":"2023-02-10T17:48:17","date_gmt":"2023-02-10T17:48:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.law.temple.edu\/studentpost\/?p=2973"},"modified":"2023-02-10T18:57:52","modified_gmt":"2023-02-10T18:57:52","slug":"spring-2023-week-five","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.law.temple.edu\/studentpost\/spring-2023-week-five\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring 2023 &#8211; Week Five"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>COMMUNITY REMINDERS<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">\n<h3><em><strong>2023-2024\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><em><strong>Federal Judicial Clerkship Honors Clinic Application &#8211; Due February 15th at 12 pm<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p>We are excited to announce that the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/law.temple.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/Federal-Judicial-Clerkship-Honors-Program-Application-2023-2024.pdf\">application<\/a><\/span> for the 2023-2024 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/law.temple.edu\/academics\/experiential\/external-clinics\/federal-judicial-clerkships\/\">Federal Judicial Clerkship Honors Program<\/a><\/span> is now open!<\/p>\n<p>The FJC Honors Program is a 6-credit year-long experiential program (3-credits each semester) in which students work for federal judges and participate in the practical aspects of jurisprudence. Students draft orders, research issues, prepare bench memoranda, and observe judicial proceedings. Students are expected to spend approximately ten hours per week in chambers and attend a bi-weekly classroom seminar taught by the Honorable Mitchell S. Goldberg. The seminar meets Wednesday mornings at the Federal Courthouse. The Honors Program is open to rising 3L Day, 4L Part-Time Day, and 4L Evening Division Students. Students will be selected by a committee of law school faculty and administrators. Upon selection, you will be matched with a federal judge located in Philadelphia or Camden. Bradway high school mock trial competition, which is organized by the Philadelphia Bar Association&#8217;s Young Lawyers Division and Temple University&#8217;s Beasley School of Law, is seeking volunteer judges for the 2023 competition in February and early March. Responsibilities include promoting the Kaplan course through email and social media and generally being a Kaplan ambassador to promote the course to our student body. Kaplan also runs a table each Wednesday on the 3rd floor of Klein.
