Nguyen, Emily Alvarez and Bryan Satalino&#8217;s Senior Design Workshop class from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture. (Quantities are limited)<\/div>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>State Court Honors Internship Program &#8211; Application Open!<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We are proud to offer the State Court Honors Internship Program (SCHIP). In this three (3) credit experiential program, second year day and third year evening\/part-time students are offered an opportunity to work for a judge in the First Judicial District of the Court of Common Pleas of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Students are educated on the structure, function, administration, and diversity of issues presented in the state judiciary, and gain practical experience with the various divisions in the First Judicial District. Working with the judges and their full-time clerks, students draft orders, research issues, prepare bench memoranda, and observe judicial proceedings.\u00a0\u00a0Further program information, including the application and the selection procedure, can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.temple.edu\/academics\/experiential\/external-clinics\/state-judicial-clerkships\/\">here<\/a>. Stoudt Memorial Scholarship of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pabar.org\/site\/Foundation\/What-We-Do\/James-W-Stoudt-Memorial-Scholarship\">James W. Stoudt Memorial Scholarship of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation<\/a> will provide three ($3,000) scholarships, two of which are specifically dedicated to the support of historically underrepresented minority law students of African-American, Hispanic-American or Native American Ancestry.\u00a0 To be eligible, applicants must be or become law student members of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (which is free for law students choosing to become electronic members), demonstrate financial need and good academic standing, and submit an application that includes:\u00a0 proof of residency; an unofficial copy of a current academic transcript; a maximum of two recommendations; and a 500-word essay that describes how the applicant plans to demonstrate their potential for making a contribution to society and the legal profession.\u00a0 The deadline is December 3, 2019.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"section-19\"><strong>Mindful Mondays\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Everyone can participate in a 20-minute guided mindfulness meditation practice.\u00a0 Mindful meditation involves paying attention on purpose to the present moment without judgement.\u00a0 No experience is necessary.\u00a0 Join Professor deGuzman at noon in K5B every Monday.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Louis Jackson Memorial National Student Writing Competition<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This writing competition is co-sponsored by Jackson Lewis LLP and the Institute for Law and the Worrkplace at IIT College of Law.\u00a0 Judges will consider papers on any topic relating to the law governing the workplace, such as employment law, labor law, employee benefits, or employment discrimination.\u00a0 One top honors award of $3,000 and two $1,000 awards will be presented.\u00a0 The submission deadline is\u00a0 January 22, 2020. You may find more information <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kentlaw.iit.edu\/institutes-centers\/institute-for-law-and-the-workplace\/louis-jackson-writing-competition\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Trandafir International Business Writing Competition<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Transnational Law &amp; Contemporary Problems, in conjunction with the University of Iowa College of Law, conducts an annual world affairs student writing competition that is open to law students and to graduate students in all disciplines. Students are able to write on any contemporary business or economic concern with the award being publication as well as a $2500 cash prize. All essays must be received no later than February\u00a01, 2020. Please review the rules carefully <a href=\"https:\/\/tlcp.law.uiowa.edu\/trandafir-writing-competition\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Comments for the Law Faculty Review Committee<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Law Faculty Review Committee makes recommendations to the Faculty and the Dean regarding tenure, promotion, and long-term contracts for faculty members.\u00a0 The Committee also evaluates the progress of faculty members toward promotion, tenure, and long-term contracts.<\/p>\n<p>The Committee encourages members of the student body, the faculty, and the administration to express their views on the performance of individual faculty members under review.\u00a0 Student views and comments on the teaching performance of the faculty members under review are especially useful and important to this process.\u00a0 Although we read the regular student course evaluations for the faculty members under consideration, student comments and opinions sent directly to the Committee are welcome and appreciated.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone wishing to express their views and comments on the faculty members under review should do so in writing addressed to Professor Richard Greenstein (Room 601), or by e-mail to <u><a href=\"mailto:richard.greenstein@temple.edu.\">richard.greenstein@temple.edu.<\/a><\/u><\/p>\n<p>The following faculty member will be considered for promotion.
