During the 90-minute moderated forum, the candidates will answer questions about their experience and why they seek election to the Superior Court. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions. Attendees can register for the forum here:\u00a0https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/decision-2019-pa-superior-court-candidates-forum-philadelphia-tickets-68615784659<\/a> Registration is free, but space is limited.<\/p>\n Professor Deguzman is accepting applications for a practicum in international criminal law next semester.\u00a0 The student will work with Global Rights Compliance (https:\/\/www.globalrightscompliance.com<\/a>) on issues related to international human rights, humanitarian, and\/or criminal law. Jessup International Moot Court Competition is a competition that brings students from law schools across the country to compete with each other in a mock trial as if between nations at the International Court of Justice.\u00a0 The Jessup Team will be responsible for researching and writing legal briefs for both sides in a dispute between two fictitious countries.\u00a0 Students will then form two teams of two to argue a side before a panel of judges, the majority of whom are actual judges or attorneys involved in the practice of international law.\u00a0 This will involve a significant time commitment over the course of the late fall and beginning of the spring semester.\u00a0 Students may earn 2 credits for their Spring Semester.\u00a0 If interested, please email Kyle Offenbecher at\u00a0kyle.offenbecher@temple.edu<\/a>for more details.<\/p>\n The American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers is pleased to announce its 2020 annual writing competition to recognize significant written contributions in the field of U.S. consumer financial services law.\u00a0 Entries must have been written or published between November 15, 2019 and December 1, 2019.\u00a0 The deadline submission is December 1, 2019. You may find more information here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Everyone can participate in a 20-minute guided mindfulness meditation practice.\u00a0 Mindful meditation involves paying attention on purpose to the present moment without judgement.\u00a0 No experience is necessary.\u00a0 Join Professor deGuzman at noon in K5B every Monday.<\/p>\n Transnational Law & Contemporary Problems, in conjunction with the University of Iowa College of Law, conducts an annual world affairs student writing competition that is open to law students and to graduate students in all disciplines. Students are able to write on any contemporary business or economic concern with the award being publication as well as a $2500 cash prize. All essays must be received no later than February\u00a01, 2020. Please review the rules carefully here<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Law Faculty Review Committee makes recommendations to the Faculty and the Dean regarding tenure, promotion, and long-term contracts for faculty members.\u00a0 The Committee also evaluates the progress of faculty members toward promotion, tenure, and long-term contracts.<\/p>\n The Committee encourages members of the student body, the faculty, and the administration to express their views on the performance of individual faculty members under review.\u00a0 Student views and comments on the teaching performance of the faculty members under review are especially useful and important to this process.\u00a0 Although we read the regular student course evaluations for the faculty members under consideration, student comments and opinions sent directly to the Committee are welcome and appreciated.<\/p>\n Anyone wishing to express their views and comments on the faculty members under review should do so in writing addressed to Professor Richard Greenstein (Room 601), or by e-mail to richard.greenstein@temple.edu.<\/a><\/u><\/p>\n The following faculty member will be considered for promotion.
