Fall Exam Schedule<\/h3>\n
The Fall 2019 examination\u00a0schedule\u00a0is now available\u00a0here<\/a>. This Fall, the last day of classes is Wednesday, December 4, 2019.\u00a0 Exams will begin on Friday, December 6, 2019 and end on Thursday, December 19, 2019.\u00a0 Please be aware that the\u00a0exam\u00a0period is\u00a0very compressed and that, under our\u00a0exam\u00a0conflict policy, you may be required to take an\u00a0exam\u00a0every other day.<\/p>\n Information about\u00a0exam\u00a0conflicts and the\u00a0Exam\u00a0Conflict Form can be found\u00a0here<\/a>. If you have a conflict please complete the form at this\u00a0link<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0email it to Ms. Kathy Wilson (kilson@temple.edu<\/a>) in Student Services (Barrack 103) by November 4, 2019. If you are an evening student requesting to take an exam on Saturday please fill out the form that’s located\u00a0at this link.<\/a><\/p>\n Hard copies of the\u00a0schedule\u00a0are available in the Student Services Office, Barrack Hall, Suite 103.<\/p>\n The Law School’s six in-house clinics<\/a> offer the chance to engage in real-life lawyering, under faculty supervision and for course credit. The on-line\u00a0Application Form<\/a>\u00a0 must be completed by October 21st at 4 pm. A Practicum combines an experiential learning project with supervision and evaluation by a member of the full time faculty. There are a wealth of meaningful learning opportunities in a variety of fields including compliance, employment law, immigration, and tax. The program will discuss Pennsylvania\u2019s judicial election system, the role of judges, and important factors to consider when evaluating judicial candidates. Attendees can register for the workshop here:\u00a0https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/voter-information-program-judicial-elections-tickets-72309296051<\/a> Registration is free, but space is limited.<\/p>\n On Tuesday, October 29th<\/sup>, PMC and the Philadelphia Bar Association will co-host Decision 2019, an\u00a0interactive forum with the candidates for Pennsylvania\u2019s Superior Court, from 5 to 6:30 pm at the Parkway Central Library. During the 90-minute moderated forum, the candidates will answer questions about their experience and why they seek election to the Superior Court. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions. Jessup International Moot Court Competition is a competition that brings students from law schools across the country to compete with each other in a mock trial as if between nations at the International Court of Justice.\u00a0 The Jessup Team will be responsible for researching and writing legal briefs for both sides in a dispute between two fictitious countries.\u00a0 Students will then form two teams of two to argue a side before a panel of judges, the majority of whom are actual judges or attorneys involved in the practice of international law.\u00a0 This will involve a significant time commitment over the course of the late fall and beginning of the spring semester.\u00a0 Students may earn 2 credits for their Spring Semester.\u00a0 If interested, please email Kyle Offenbecher at\u00a0kyle.offenbecher@temple.edu<\/a>for more details.<\/p>\n Everyone can participate in a 20-minute guided mindfulness meditation practice.\u00a0 Mindful meditation involves paying attention on purpose to the present moment without judgement.\u00a0 No experience is necessary.\u00a0 Join Professor deGuzman at noon in K5B every Monday.<\/p>\n The Law Faculty Review Committee makes recommendations to the Faculty and the Dean regarding tenure, promotion, and long-term contracts for faculty members.\u00a0 The Committee also evaluates the progress of faculty members toward promotion, tenure, and long-term contracts.<\/p>\n The Committee encourages members of the student body, the faculty, and the administration to express their views on the performance of individual faculty members under review.\u00a0 Student views and comments on the teaching performance of the faculty members under review are especially useful and important to this process.\u00a0 Although we read the regular student course evaluations for the faculty members under consideration, student comments and opinions sent directly to the Committee are welcome and appreciated.<\/p>\n Anyone wishing to express their views and comments on the faculty members under review should do so in writing addressed to Professor Richard Greenstein (Room 601), or by e-mail to richard.greenstein@temple.edu.<\/a><\/u><\/p>\n The following faculty member will be considered for promotion.
