Spring 2021 – Week 9

COMMUNITY REMINDERS

Upper Level Students – Clinical and Experiential Learning Survey – Invitation to Participate

The Offices of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs would like to know more about how you learn about our Clinical and Experiential Learning Programs. This information will help us better serve the needs of our law school community. Please fill out the four question survey.

Give your feedback to the SBA Social Committee

Given ongoing pandemic restrictions and public health considerations, the SBA Social Committee is determining what virtual event we could hold or class gift we could provide to students (which would be sent by mail) this spring in lieu of an in-person Barristers’ Ball. Another option would be to give a gift to graduating students and roll the rest of any funds over to the general SBA account for the 2022-23 school year.  Please help us by providing your feedback and ideas through this survey by EOD, Sunday, March 7!

Admissions Housing Survey – We Hope You Can Participate

The Law School Admissions Office is asking for your help in responding to an anonymous survey to obtain information about our current students’ housing experiences. This information will be distributed to admitted students and will help them locate the housing that best suits their needs. Securing housing is often listed as one of the biggest stressors in the transition process for new students and given the current climate, providing your feedback on this survey will help the incoming class make a confident housing decision.

Here is the Link to the Housing Survey: Temple University Beasley School of Law – Housing Survey

Again, the survey is anonymous and should take approximately five minutes to complete. The housing guide is being put together with the help of VeryApt, an emerging startup in the real estate tech industry. Please contact Shauna Ware, Director of Law School Admissions, at shauna.ware@temple.edu, if you have any questions. Thank you in advance for your participation.

The Community Fund for Black Bar Applicants

The Community Fund for Black Bar Applicants was founded by Octavia Carson, J.D.  The mission is to provide $500 grants to Black bar exam applicants across the United States. This mission stems out of a desire to diversify the legal profession and raise the percentage of Black attorneys in the United States from 5% to 20% by 2024.  Students can register for the fund here and each time the fund has $500 they will donate it to the first applicant in line to receive a grant. Students can apply multiple times but may be moved to the end of the list after they receive the first grant.
