All exams will again be administered remotely this semester.  Information about remote exams can be found here: https://www.law.temple.edu/academics/exams/. If you have a conflict please complete this form and email it to Ms. Kathy Wilson (kilson@temple.edu) by April 2, 2021. Late Exam Policy – 5 minute grace period

Students are permitted a short – 5 minute – grace period to upload exams to the Examsoft website. This 5 minute grace period for each exam is provided specifically to allow time for students to properly save (as a PDF) and upload exam answers. You must immediately begin to upload your exam answer as soon as the exam period is over or when you have finished – whichever comes first. If your answer does not upload within the 5 minute grace period, you must email your answer to lawexams@temple.edu to time-stamp your exam. Over the last year we have learned that idle webpages are the most common cause for a delayed upload. Because of this, you must remember to always log out of Examsoft after you have downloaded your exam. If you fail to do so, the webpage may time-out and you will have trouble uploading your answer. After sending your answer to the administration, follow the below trouble-shooting steps:
  • Quit and restart the entire browser completely – not just the individual Examsoft tab
  • Switch to a completely different browser. All browsers work (including Safari and Edge. Exit out of any messages to the contrary and log in as normal). Many students find success using Chrome on Incognito mode
  • Restart your computer
Be sure to email your answer to lawexams@temple.edu so that it is time stamped before you begin troubleshooting. Each exam is reviewed for compliance and there are penalties for exams that are submitted late.

Exam Sick Policy

We know that many of you have received your first vaccine dose and may receive your second dose during the exam period. We understand your concerns about possible side effects. We hope you do not have side effects, but if you do, please know that you should not sit for an exam if you are sick.  In the event that you are experiencing side effects, or are ill for any reason, please contact us immediately at lawexams@temple.edu or 215-204-2380.  You should contact us as soon as possible, and not later than the scheduled date and time for the exam. If you become ill during an exam, you should contact us immediately. Do not contact the professor or attempt to discuss the issue with the professor.  We are here to help.

Exam Format – Handwritten

Any student who wishes to handwrite an exam must use a bluebook. Bluebooks may be picked up from the law school or if a student is unable to pick them up, the bluebooks may be shipped. Please let us know no later than April 26, 2021 if you will require a bluebook to be shipped to you.
The process for handwriting your exam is as follows:
  • Download the exam from Examsoft at the scheduled time
  • Write your answers on the bluebook(s), including your anonymous spring 2021 exam number on every page
  • After the exam period is up or when you’ve finished – whichever comes first – email lawexams@temple.edu so that we may timestamp your submission. Let us know that you have stopped working on the exam and are starting the process to upload. Remember that you are bound by the Law School Code of Conduct.
  • Scan in your answer and upload the PDF to the Examsoft website. If you do not have a scanner, take a picture of each page with your phone, add the pictures to a Word document, save this file as a PDF and upload to the Examsoft website.
We will have IT Support available in case you need assistance. Do not inform your faculty member of your choice to either handwrite or type your exam. If you have questions or concerns, please let us know.

Exam Help Desk

We will provide a virtual Exam Help Desk on April 26-28 from 11:30AM – 1PM & 5PM-6PM. Come see us with any questions or concerns. We are here to help!
