Fall 2019 Grades

Fall 2019 grades for Upper Level students will roll on Sunday, January 12th at 7:00 pm.  Fall 2019 grades for 1L students will roll on Tuesday, January 14th at 3:50 pm.  Please note that the system can take a few minutes to roll all of the grades – each roll should be complete within 15 minutes. To access your grades:

  1. Log on to Portal
  2. Select Student Tools
  3. Scroll down to the right and select Academic History
  4. Click Submit to pull up the transcript

Upper Level Add/Drop and Waitlists Starts 1/2/20

Waitlists are maintained for select courses (Writing Seminars, Professional Skills Courses except for Internal Clinics, and courses that were full at the end of Priority Registration).  Waitlist registration will coincide with the Add/Drop registration period which begins on Thursday, January 2nd at noon and end on Friday, January 10th at 1:00 pm.  For Waitlist Tips and step-by-step instructions on how to be added to a Waitlist, a PDF link is provided on the Course Schedule and Descriptions web page titled Waiting Lists for Law School Courses.

Exam Lost and Found

We found several items including computer chargers, an iron, a textbook and noise cancelling headphones.  Please stop by Student Affairs at your convenience to pick up your items.

Winter Break Building Hours

Winter break runs from Saturday, December 21, 2019 until January 2, 2020.  Klein Hall and Barrack Hall will close at the end of the day on December 20, 2019 and reopen on January 2, 2020.  Have a safe winter break!

Spring 2020 Financial Aid Announcement

Spring 2020 Financial Aid is scheduled to be applied to student tuition accounts on Thursday, January 2, 2020. As a reminder, refunds issued via direct deposit are typically received 3-4 business days after funds are applied. Refunds are expected to be deposited between January 6th – 9th for most students.  If you have not selected direct deposit as your preferred refund method, you should expect to receive your refund check via mail 7-10 business days after funds are applied.  If you wish to sign up to receive refunds via direct deposit or wish to change your banking information, please follow the steps in the following link: https://bursar.temple.edu/payments/refunds The Office of Financial Aid will be closed for the winter break beginning the afternoon of December 20, 2019. The office will reopen on January 2, 2020.

Peggy Browning Fellowship Applications 

The Peggy Browning Fund is accepting applications for their 2020 fellowship program. This is a great opportunity for 1Ls & 2Ls (including Peggy Browning Alumni) to work for economic and social justice in labor-related organizations throughout the United States. Please apply online via their website by Friday, January 17, 2020. The Peggy Browning Fund will continue to add fellowships during the month of December, so please keep watching their site!

Louis Jackson Memorial National Student Writing Competition

This writing competition is co-sponsored by Jackson Lewis LLP and the Institute for Law and the Worrkplace at IIT College of Law.  Judges will consider papers on any topic relating to the law governing the workplace, such as employment law, labor law, employee benefits, or employment discrimination.  One top honors award of $3,000 and two $1,000 awards will be presented.  The submission deadline is  January 22, 2020. Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts Writing Competition

Interested in winning $5,000? Enter PMC’s writing competition for 2L and 3L students.  This year’s question is: “Should judges be permitted to speak out on their decisions?” The submission deadline is February 7, 2020 to writingcontest@pmconline.org.  The winning student will receive a $5,000 prize and be honored at a reception in the spring.
