Academic Calendar – End of Semester Dates and SP22 Start Dates
The law school academic calendar can be found here. Please note that Wednesday, November 24 will follow a Friday class schedule. Please also note that Tuesday, November 30th will follow a Thursday class schedule. The last day of the fall semester is December 1st. The first day of spring classes is January 10, 2022.

Spring 2022 registration ended on November 22 at 11:59PM. Add/Drop will take place from 1/3/22 – 1/14/22. Wait-lists will open at that time.
FINAL EXAM INFORMATION – FALL 2021
Exam Schedule
The Fall 2021 examination schedule is now available here. This Fall, the last day of classes is Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Exams will begin on Friday, December 3, 2021 and end on Monday, December 20, 2021. If you do not see an exam listed on the “Exam Schedule Fall 2021” document, please check the “Free Slot Exams” document and the “Take-Home Exams” document.
Evening Division Saturday Exam Option
All evening students may move an exam from the originally scheduled date to a subsequent Saturday. (You are not permitted to take an exam before the originally scheduled date). If you are an evening student requesting to take an exam on Saturday and you did not fill out the form by the deadline, please email Director Walden.
Exam Administration
- All notes, outlines, and study materials must be in hard copy. You will not be able to access anything on your computer other than Examplify during the exam.
- Masks must be worn at all times during the exam.
- Eating/drinking is not permitted in the exam room.
- You may leave the room – no permission needed – at any point to use the bathroom or eat/drink in a designated area

UCLA Latino Policy and Politics Initiative/Voting Rights Project is Hiring Summer Fellows for 2022
The UCLA Voting Rights Project, part of the UCLA Latino Policy and Politics Initiative (LPPI), is hiring Summer law Fellows in the Los Angeles office or REMOTE for Summer of 2022. Summer Law Fellows will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience by working alongside the team assisting in all aspects of litigation.
The UCLA Voting Rights Project is a leading national voting rights organization. The Project has litigated cases before the 5th Circuit on the right to vote during the COVID-19 pandemic; acted as expert witnesses in multiple voting rights cases in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Missouri; and is litigating vote dilution cases all over the United States. For Summer: accepting applications from October 1 – Jan. 3rd, interviews on a rolling basis.

The final exam period can be particularly stressful. To the extent that you are able, please make sure that you are getting enough sleep, moving your body, eating fruits and vegetables, and spending time with friends and family.
SCHOLARSHIPS & WRITING COMPETITIONS
Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts (PMC) 2022 Law Student Writing Competition
Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts (PMC) is excited to launch the 2022 Law Student Writing Competition for 2L and 3L students. This year, we’re asking students to address the topic: Under the existing rules of judicial conduct, how might Pennsylvania’s courts utilize current communication tools, such as social media, to engage the people of Pennsylvania to instill confidence in the workings of the judicial branch and its decisions? The competition is open to law students from the law schools in Pennsylvania, including the Greater Philadelphia area. The papers will be due by February 4, 2022. The winning student will receive a $5000 prize and be honored at a reception in the spring.
The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and American Bar Association Section of Labor and Employment Law Annual Law Student Writing Competition for 2022
The ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law and The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers are pleased to announce their 2022 writing competition. This competition is open to articles written while the author is an active student at an accredited law school in the United States. Authors may not have graduated from law school prior to December 1, 2021. Graduate students in law school (LLM candidates) are not eligible. Prizes are as follows: First Place: $3000; Second Place: $1000, and Third Place: $500. The first-place winning article may be selected for publication in the ABA Journal of Labor & Employment Law. In addition, the author of the first-place paper will be a guest at the ABA Annual Section of Labor and Employment Law Conference and honored at the Annual Induction Dinner of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. The College and the Section reserve the right not to select any article for publication or award any prizes if, in their judgment, the submissions do not meet their standards for outstanding legal writing. Recording Academy ELI Grammy Writing Competition
The Recording Academy has officially launched its yearly Entertainment Law Initiative Writing Contest.

American Kennel Club Companion Animal Law Writing Contest
The American Kennel Club® (AKC) is pleased to announce the fifth annual Companion Animal Law Writing Contest! The contest begsn on August 23rd and is open to all students currently enrolled at an ABA-accredited law school.
The contest will offer a first-place prize of $2500 and a second-place prize of $500.
Students are asked to choose between two topics: The impact of “lawyers for dogs” laws on animal cruelty cases or the constitutionality of mandatory spay/neuter laws. This year’s topics offer students the unique opportunity to discuss legal perspectives on issues currently in the news and at the forefront of animal law.
Entries will be judged by legal and public policy professionals with experience in laws impacting companion animals.

James W. Stoudt Memorial Scholarship
The James W. Stoudt Memorial Scholarship of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation provides three, $3,000 scholarships, two of which are specifically dedicated to the support of historically underrepresented minority law students of African-American, Hispanic-American or Native American ancestry. Named after one of the Foundation’s most devoted supporters, the James W. Stoudt Memorial Scholarship is open Pennsylvania residents in their second year of a full-time law school program or third year of a part-time program.
To be eligible, applicants must be or become law student members of the Pennsylvania Bar Association which is free for law students choosing to become electronic members, demonstrate financial need and good academic standing and submit an application that includes: proof of residency; an unofficial copy of a current academic transcript; a maximum of two recommendations; and a 500-word essay that describes how the applicant plans to demonstrate his/her potential for making a contribution to society and the legal profession.

Metzer Social Justice Grant
Meltzer Social Justice Grants offer stipends of $1,000 to $3,000 to students who design and carry out innovative social justice projects. Applications are welcomed on a rolling basis as long as funding is available, and can be for work planned to occur this fall; over the course of both semesters; or in the spring semester. Information on the types of projects supported and application procedures are available in the Meltzer Grants Announcement.
Judicial Council Scholarship
The NBA Judicial Council was founded in 1971 as a division of the National Bar Association, the oldest and largest association of minority judges and lawyers in the country. The Judicial Council’s mission objectives include increasing the presence of judges of color in the Federal and State judiciaries. Therefore, in keeping with our mission and objectives, we have established a scholarship program to award eligible people who are members of a racial or ethnic minority that has been underrepresented in the legal profession. TEMPLE 10-Q
The Temple 10-Q is the electronic newsletter turned blog about business law at Temple Law. The Temple 10-Q features regular contributions by alumni, students, and faculty on various aspects of their business law work, features about accomplishments by community members, and announcements about upcoming business law events of interest. The goal of The Temple 10-Q is to build a community around the business law work at Temple Law. The editors, Professor Jonathan Lipson, Professor Andrea Monroe, and Professor Jonathan Broder hope The Temple 10-Q helps to energize Temple’s business law community by creating a forum through which they can educate and inform. Judicial Council Bar Review Scholarship
To assist law students of racial and ethnic minorities in securing their law licenses by passing the bar exam, the Judicial Council is offering a limited number of Bar Review scholarships in the amount of $2500 for graduating law students. MPRE 2022 Test Administration Information
Below please find information about the 2022 test administration dates, fees, registration deadlines, and recommended submission dates for test accommodations requests for the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination. Please note that the recommended submission date to request test accommodations for the March 2022 exam is December 7, 2021.
