Download Examplify for Exams – Action Needed!

If you are planning to take your exams on a computer, you have to download and install Examplify – the software used for taking secured exams. New registration is required every year.

Starting today, you must download Examplify and your exam files. To download Examplify, please go to the Examsoft website at examsoft.com/templelaw. Log in and follow the instructions. Your Student ID (under Exam takers) is your 9-digit TUID (found on your Temple ID card), and your password is the first letter of your first name + the first letter of your last name + the last 4 digits of your Student ID. Both letters are capitalized. (Example: Jane Doe 123456789 will be JD6789).

Once you have downloaded the software and installed it, you may elect to take any or all of your scheduled or free-slot exams on your computer. Your exams are available under My Exams. Make sure that you have downloaded and registered Examplify AND taken a mock exam by Monday, December 2 at 5:00 pm. Please do not wait until the last minute to install the software and to download your exam files.

Re-Entry Workshop with NLG

Temple Law’s Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild (NLG) will be partnering with the Youth Sentencing and Reentry Project (YSRP) to host a two-hour workshop on February 1, 2020. Centering around different tables at the event, the workshop will address three crucial barriers to reentry: Employment, Education, and Technology. NLG will be working with two populations of YSRP clients: adult clients who were previously sentenced to life in prison as juveniles (but who have since been re-sentenced), as well as juvenile clients who have had some involvement in the criminal justice system. After the workshop, all student and client participants will be invited to attend the Temple Basketball Game together that night at 6 pm against the East Carolina Pirates!

Students who are interested in applying must fill out this application by Friday, November 29, 2019 at 11 pm. This project is capped at 20 students. We will notify selected students by Monday, December 2, 2019. This project is open to all students at Temple Law (i.e. you don’t need to be a part of NLG to apply); evening students and LLM students are also welcome to apply. All students must be able to attend the two mandatory trainings in January. The first training will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 and the second training will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020. Both trainings are tentatively scheduled from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. Please direct all questions to Celia Givens (celia.givens@temple.edu) or Amando Dominick (amando.dominick@temple.edu).

Survey for 1LEs, 2Ls, 2LEs, 3Ls, 3LEs, & 4LEs

I, Frankie Hess, want to be able to give feedback to the administration, as a student, on something that I feel strongly about. This survey is about the Civil Procedure I class, is only one question and is not coming from the administration. As the SBA 1LE President, I also wanted to give other students an opportunity to have a voice on this topic, in case it was also shared by the majority of the student body, but also in the event that it is not a popular opinion. Please fill out the survey by November 27th, and thank you!

Comments for the Law Faculty Review Committee

The Law Faculty Review Committee makes recommendations to the Faculty and the Dean regarding tenure, promotion, and long-term contracts for faculty members.  The Committee also evaluates the progress of faculty members toward promotion, tenure, and long-term contracts.

The Committee encourages members of the student body, the faculty, and the administration to express their views on the performance of individual faculty members under review.  Student views and comments on the teaching performance of the faculty members under review are especially useful and important to this process.  Although we read the regular student course evaluations for the faculty members under consideration, student comments and opinions sent directly to the Committee are welcome and appreciated.

Anyone wishing to express their views and comments on the faculty members under review should do so in writing addressed to Professor Richard Greenstein (Room 601), or by e-mail to richard.greenstein@temple.edu.

The following faculty member will be considered for promotion. For this faculty member please submit your comments by February 17, 2020. Seeking Promotion to Associate Professor: Assistant Professor Bonny Tavares

The following faculty member is being reviewed during the fall and spring semesters as to her progress towards tenure, promotion, or long-term contracts, and for her please submit your comments by February 17, 2020. Assistant Professor of Law Erika Douglas.

The Committee will notify members of the student body, the faculty, and the administration of any additional spring evaluations. Thank you.
