
The Chef
Emeril Starr is an accomplished chef who trained at the French Culinary Institute in New York. His specialty is French cooking, especially entrees and appetizers. He currently works as a sous chef at The Devon Inn, in Devon PA, a charming old world restaurant in a grand main line mansion. He has worked there for 3 years. Previously he worked as a sous chef at lunch at The Four Seasons Hotel in New York and as a line chef at Daniel, also in New York. Emeril loves Philadelphia and wants to move into the Center City trendy restaurant scene, where he believes he has a better chance to improve his reputation and become nationally known. He also believes he is ready to become an executive chef. He has had good training under some fine chefs and he believes he is prepared to make the jump to the executive chef level. He is very good friends with Carly Whitman, who is a regular customer at the Devon Inn. He knows she is a very smart and successful business woman with good access to capital and he believes that her invitation to go into the restaurant business together is a dream come true.
