Most recently it was instrumental in enacting campaign finance and ethics reforms in Philadelphia and in leading a coalition to push back on ill-considered Voter ID laws in 2013.\u00a0\u00a0 Prior to coming to Seventy, Thornburgh has led a number of civic and economic development organizations in the Philadelphia area, including the Wharton Small Business Development Center, the Pennsylvania Economy League, the Alliance for Regional Stewardship, and Penn\u2019s Fels Institute of Government. He is a frequent commentator on public policy issues in the regional and national press, has taught at Penn and Drexel, and has received a number of awards for his leadership. He holds a BA in Political Science from Haverford College and a Master&#8217;s Degree in Public Policy from Harvard University&#8217;s Kennedy School of Government. He lives with his wife, Rebecca McKillip Thornburgh, a Wharton MBA turned children\u2019s book illustrator in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia. Their twentysomething daughters Blair and Alice both live and work in Philadelphia.
