Awarded to the graduate who wrote the best paper in the areas of public service, state or local government regulations, or health law. <strong>Awarded to Michael Robert DeAngelo<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class='h3'>Louis M. Natali Prize for Criminal Defense Advocacy<\/h4>\n<p>Established to honor Professor Louis Natali, a titan in the fields of criminal defense, trial advocacy, and capital case litigation who taught generations of lawyers how to handle the most difficult cases. Awarded to a student who demonstrated, through a research paper or clinical placement, excellence in the defense of the indigent. <strong>Awarded to Ryan Aloysius Smith<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class='h3'>Arthur G. Raynes Award<\/h4>\n<p>For scholarly achievement in the law as relates directly to research, organization of thought, clarity, and the ability to draw explicit conclusions. <strong>Awarded to Ryan Aloysius Smith \u2013 1st place, Emily Ann Berg \u2013 2nd place<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class='h3'>The J. Howard Reber Memorial Award<\/h4>\n<p>Established by the Law Alumni Association for excellence in student editing and writing for the Temple Law Review. <strong>Awarded to Emily Ann Berg \u2013 editing, Ryan Aloysius Smith &#8211; writing<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class='h3'>Henry J. Richardson, III Award<\/h4>\n<p>Established to honor Henry J. Richardson, III, Professor of Law, for his personal contribution to critical thinking in the areas of international law, development, and human rights, and his dedication to fostering thoughtful scholarship in these areas. Awarded to the student who wrote the best paper in the field of international human rights. <strong>Awarded to Sarah Hibbert<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class='h3'>The Sarah A. Shull Memorial Award<\/h4>\n<p>Established by Dr. and Mrs. Elden S. Magaw for excellence in legal research and writing. <strong>Awarded to David K. Eapen, Rachel Leffel<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class='h3'>The Honorable Dolores K. Sloviter Award<\/h4>\n<p>This award was established to commemorate Judge Sloviter&#8217;s term as Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. The award is given annually to a student who writes an excellent paper in the area of federal judicial administration or federal jurisdiction. <strong>Awarded to Owen Healy<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class='h3'>The Smith and Leibel Family Law Award<\/h4>\n<p>Established by two alumnae of the law school who practice domestic relations law to emphasize the importance of this area. Awarded to the student who wrote the best paper on a topic related to family law. <strong>Awarded to Catherine Houseman<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class='h2' style=\"text-align: center;\">Advocacy Awards<\/h4>\n<h4 class='h3'>Center for Forensic Economic Studies Jerome M. Staller Award<\/h4>\n<p>Awarded annually to the graduates who have proven themselves in litigation areas to be the most promising litigators. <strong>Awarded to Dominique L. Montoya, Justin Vaughn White<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class='h3'>Myron H. Deutsch &#8217;60 Memorial Award<\/h4>\n<p>Established by his colleagues to honor the memory of Myron H. Manderino Award<\/h4>\n<p>To the outstanding student in trial advocacy. <strong>Awarded to Nicholas Guth<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class='h2' style=\"text-align: center;\">Awards for Outstanding Contributions to the Law School Community<\/h4>\n<h4 class='h3'>The Henry Kent Anderson Human Services Award<\/h4>\n<p>Established by his great-grandson in 2005, this award honors Henry Kent Anderson, a native American Cherokee who was born in 1855 and dedicated his life to the cause of human rights and social justice for his people. It is awarded to a student whose challenging career has demonstrated, through exemplary work and deed, a concern for the victims of society&#8217;s inequities. <strong>Awarded to Pretty Martinez<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class='h3'>The Albert M. Cohen Memorial Award<\/h4>\n<p>Offered by Lambda Sigma Kappa law fraternity to the graduates who rendered outstanding service to the law school in the work of the Student Bar Association. <strong>Awarded to Francois Duris, Dominique L. Montoya, Bridget O\u2019Loughlin, Sonjay Singh, Letitia Santarelli, Angela R.
